On November 30, 1986, director of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel Sergio Gor was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, which at that point belonged to the Soviet Union.
This information is of interest due to Gor’s rapidly rising stature in the second Trump administration. His prevention of Jared Isaacman from becoming NASA’s administrator sidelined Elon Musk’s influence within the White House, ultimately resulting in a rivalry between the billionaire and Trump.
Neither the New York Post or Washington Post could pin down Gor’s birthplace. He himself has refused to publicly disclose it. It was only on July 8 that the Times of Malta and Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) revealed their finding of a notarized Maltese property record that clearly states his date and place of birth. De La Salle College, a Maltese Catholic school that Gor attended from 1996 to 1999, sent an email matching the birthday on the record.
Gor has been sensitive about how the public perceives his connections to Russia. When questioned about his place of birth, he explicitly told the New York Post that it was not in Russia. He has rarely if ever commented on his 2018 visit to Russia alongside Senator Rand Paul, which was funded by the Cato Institute. Leaked Russian border records also reveal that he stayed in Moscow for one day in 2017.
Dangerously, Gor has not submitted his SF-86 form, which employees who deal with classified information must complete.
