Department of Justice purges four prosecutors for enforcing an act of Congress, the FACE Act

The Trump Timeline:

Sources linked at end of page.

On April 13, the Department of Justice (DOJ) terminated the employment of four prosecutors who were involved in cases relating to the FACE Act, which was passed in 1994 to protect women facing intimidation at reproductive health facilities.

The firings are a result of a FACE Act report, concocted by the so-called “weaponization working group.” A DOJ spokesperson, without evidence, accused the fired employees of “weaponizing” the FACE Act. The Trump administration has repeatedly and falsely accused Merrick Garland’s DOJ of exploiting the act against Christians.

The DOJ has refused to investigate further FACE Act cases. As the workers were fired for enforcing a law that this DOJ politically disagrees with, these are illegal firings.
