On Veep call with Trump, JD Vance tells son to ‘shut the hell up’

The Trump Timeline:

When Donald Trump called to notify J.D. Vance that he was selected as Trump’s running mate, on the first day of the 2024 RNC convention, Vance yelled at his son to “shut the hell up.”

As he recounted on the Full Send Podcast the following month, the call came in when they were in a hotel room. Vance’s son was apparently too loud and chatty about Pokemon.

He is really into Pokemon cards right now, he’s going through a Pokemon phase… I mean he’s really into it, so he is trying to talk to me about Pikachu and I am on the phone with Donald Trump, I’m like ‘son, shut the hell up for 30 seconds about Pikachu’. This is the most important phone call of my life, please just let me take this phone call.

Vance has, in the past, bemoaned the demise of America by “childless cat ladies” who don’t fully respect family values.
