Sometime in July, Tesla-CEO Elon Musk launched America PAC, a political action group designed to bring together some of the wealthiest TechnoBro Billionaires in support of Donald Trump.
The rollout of America PAC was chaotic, with the organization getting busted harvesting user data, which legal observers say is possibly illegal. Musk also seized the @america handle on Twitter/X to advance his PAC agenda, presumably without the original user’s consent. (Note: I reached out to that user, now assigned a different handle, and will report back if/when I hear something.)
Meantime, as Reuters reports, Musk gave $75M to his own organization in the span of three months leading up to October—which makes him, officially, a GOP megadonor.
