Donald Trump calls local news, uses 9/11 as a promotional opportunity

The Trump Timeline:

The morning of the 9/11 terrorist attack, Donald Trump calls local news station WWOR/UPN 9 to give his take on the situation. Spoiler alert: he spends more time talking about the skyline, buildings, and steel than about the people who died.

Bragging about the size of his building:

“I mean 40 Wall Street (The Trump Building) actually was the second tallest building in downtown Manhattan, and it was, actually, before the World Trade Center, was the tallest. And then when they built the World Trade Center, it became known as the second tallest, and now it’s the tallest.”

Complaining about the stock market:

“I was so disappointed when they closed the stock exchange.”

Oh, and never forget:

Possibly even more shocking than him bragging about one of his buildings is that, when asked what Americans should do right now, Trump uses a phrase that will become the #1 slogan for what happened that day.

“The big thing that you really will have to do is ‘never forget.'”
