Sometime in 2001, Donald Trump calls in to Howard Stern’s show to harass New York gossip columnist A.J. Benza, whose girlfriend supposedly left him for Trump. Benza reveals that Trump used to tell him to visit Russia for sex.
Benza says “He used to call me when I was a columnist and say ‘I was just in Russia. The girls have no morals. You gotta get out there.'”
But because Donald Trump talks over people when they say something he doesn’t like, the conversation sounds something like this:
Trump: I assume A.J.’s clean. I hope he’s clean.
Benza: Meanwhile, but he bangs Russian people.
Robin Quivers: Russian people?
Stern: Russian people?
Trump: Who are you talking about Russian, A.J.? I don’t know anything.
Benza: He used to call me when I was a columnist. He used to call me when I was a columnist and say–
Trump: Look A.J.– Hey Howard! Howard.
Benza: “I was just in Russia.”
Trump: A.J. wouldn’t feel this way–
Benza: “The girls have no morals
Trump: — if he won. You know if you win–
Benza: “You gotta get out there.” He’s out of his mind, this guy.
It’s hard to pinpoint an exact date for this 2001 segment because Benza is a recurring guest on Howard Stern at the time.
