Donald Trump sat down with ABC News and Terry Moran for an interview about recent events, most notably the wrongful deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, with Trump repeatedly insisting that Garcia has “MS-13,” the name of a gang, tattooed on his knuckles.
The claim originates from an edited photo showing the letters on his knuckles, merely suggesting that it’s what Garcia’s real tattoos represent, rather than trying to appear as if the letters are actually tattooed as well.

“On his knuckles he had MS-13,” Trump said during the interview. When told by Moran that the MS-13 photo was photoshopped, Trump replied: “That was photoshopped?”
Terry, they’re giving you the big break of a lifetime. You’re doing the interview. I picked you because, frankly, I’d never heard of you, but that’s OK. You’re not being very nice… He had ‘MS’ as clear as you can be, not ‘interpreted.’ This is why people no longer believe the news, because it’s fake news.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a Maryland man who was wrongfully deported to a prison in El Salvador. The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 that the Trump administration must bring him back, but Trump and his affiliates continued to make baseless claims that Garcia was a terrorist gang member who deserved to be deported without due process.
