Republicans shut down House to prevent release of Epstein files

Mike Johnson shut down the U.S. House of Representatives a day early to avoid a vote on releasing the Epstein files. This comes after Democrat-fueled motions to release all documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. The House is to be in recess from today until September.

Johnson claimed the Democratic lawmakers’ efforts on releasing the Epstein files are just “political games” and scolded fellow Republican Thomas Massie for “trying to bite” the GOP by teaming up with Democrats to force a vote.

Johnson further claimed that refraining from releasing the files would be troubling for Epstein’s victims. After stating that the Democrats are politicizing the Epstein files, Johnson said the America First agenda relies on “putting an end to the Democrats’ sideshows.”

This comes after reports that Attorney General Pam Bondi told Trump in May that he was on the Epstein list.
