On May 30, The New York Times published its findings on Elon Musk, who was found to have been juggling drug consumption of epic proportions with his bizarre mission to have as many children as possible.
Mr. Musk’s drug consumption went well beyond occasional use. He told people he was taking so much ketamine, a powerful anesthetic, that it was affecting his bladder, a known effect of chronic use. He took Ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms. And he traveled with a daily medication box that held about 20 pills, including ones with the markings of the stimulant Adderall, according to a photo of the box and people who have seen it.
The New York Times
Musk lied about his excessive ketamine use, claiming to only take it every two weeks. He has not only been taking it daily at some points, but also mixing it with other drugs. He has consumed Ecstasy and psychadelic mushrooms at private gatherings in America and another unidentified country.
Musk has displayed the hallmarks of an addictive personality, sometimes binge eating and playing video games for hours continuously.
The billionaire has violated the rules of his own company, SpaceX, which prohibits its workforce from consuming drugs and conducts regular drug tests. Musk cheated on these drug tests, as he was warned in advance. SpaceX is still being contracted by the federal government.
Extreme drug consumption marks only the beginning of Musk’s personal issues, which very likely could have affected his time as the head of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). He has also been in several custody battles involving the many children he helped procreate.
By 2022, Mr. Musk, who has married and divorced three times, had fathered six children in his first marriage (including one who died in infancy), as well as two with Ms. [Claire] Boucher. She told people she believed they were in a monogamous relationship and building a family together.
But while a surrogate was pregnant with their third child, Ms. Boucher was furious to discover that Mr. Musk had recently fathered twins with Shivon Zilis, an executive at his brain implant company, Neuralink, according to people familiar with the situation.
The New York Times
Boucher has been in a custody battle with Musk over their 5-year-old son, X. Musk’s public appearances with X violate his custody agreement with Boucher.
Musk also had an affair and child with Ashley St. Clair, who refused a settlement offer from him to keep quiet about their child. He also sought to impose a gag order on her, which has clearly failed.
He offered her $15 million and $100,000 a month until their son turned 21, in exchange for her silence, according to documents reviewed by The Times and first reported by The Journal. But she did not want her son’s paternity to be hidden.

Musk is part of a pronatalist movement, but this only partly explains his desire to have so many children. Musk and other billionaires subscribe to eugenics; they believe that their genes are somehow superior and must be spread as much as possible. Zilis told biographer Walter Isaacson, “he really wants smart people to have kids, so he encouraged me to do this…” The “this” was having children with him.
This all comes despite the fact that the Republican Party, which claims to favor traditional and Christian values, has embraced the polygamous and drug-addled Musk wholesale. He enjoys an over 70% approval among Republicans.
