Peter Thiel and Narya Capital, J.D. Vance’s investment firm, become the top investors in Rumble — the right-wing’s alternative to video streaming platform YouTube.
As part of the deal, Narya executive Ethan Fallang joins the board at Rumble. A press release about the investment (linked below) also mentions Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski, investment firm Colt Ventures, financial services firm Guggenheim Securities, and law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher.
[Narya’s] more than seven million shares place it among the company’s top 10 shareholders, according to securities filings. Mr. Vance also took a personal Rumble stake worth between $100,000 and $250,000, his financial disclosures show.
The New York Times
Narya was co-founded by Vance and Colin Greenspoon to invest in technology that “solves significant challenges.” The press release around this new investment does not state any “significant challenges” they believe Rumble is solving.
However, in 2022, the New York Times reports that Rumble is the new U.S. home of RT (Russia Today), the Russian state-owned news and propaganda network that has been banned from the European Union and removed from most U.S. platforms.
