On an unknown date, X, owned by Trump ally Elon Musk, agreed to pay a $10 million dollar settlement for a lawsuit Trump started after his account was suspended because he had incited the January 6 insurrection.
Trump’s team initially proposed letting the lawsuit die on its own, as Musk had donated to hundreds of millions of dollars to secure Trump’s victory, but decided to press forward with the settlement. Trump’s pettiness may have been a decisive factor in that decision.
It is unknown if this $10 million will be contributed to Trump’s future presidential library, or if it goes to Trump in another capacity.
