In the weeks leading up to the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize, Donald Trump was very outspoken about wanting to win the award, claiming he deserves it for ending global conflicts. When the recipient of the award was announced to be Venezuelan activist María Corina Machado, White House communications director Steven Cheung slammed the Nobel Committee on Twitter/X.
“The Nobel Committee proved they place politics over peace,” Cheung’s post read. “President Trump will continue making peace deals, ending wars, and saving lives. He has the heart of a humanitarian, and there will never be anyone like him who can move mountains with the sheer force of his will.”
