Sometime throughout December and/or January, dates unknown, Donald Trump places multiple calls to former adviser Steve Bannon for his help overturning the election.

Not much is known about these phone calls, but one source tells Bloomberg that Bannon isn’t the only ally Trump has called to “tell him what he wants to hear.”

In the wake of this news, Sarah Kendzior shares a screenshot from a Daily Beast reporter’s conversation with Steve Bannon. One quote in particular explains why Bannon is the best person for Trump to call.

Lenin wanted to destroy the state, and that’s my goal too. I want to bring everything crashing down, and destroy all of today’s establishment.

Steve Bannon

That quote from 2013 fits nicely with Trump’s 2014 declaration that he wants the United States to “go to total Hell.”

Bannon was indicted in August for using the “Build The Wall” nonprofit for personal gain. He spent some time in November advocating for the execution of federal employees and pushing one of many election fraud conspiracies.

On November 9, Facebook shut down a Bannon operation that was using a chain of Facebook Pages to spread election lies to millions of followers.
