In a post made to Truth Social, Donald Trump suggested the idea of no longer requiring companies to provide quarterly earnings reports, instead doing them semiannually, claiming it would “save money, and allow managers to focus on properly running their companies.”

“Did you ever hear the statement that, ‘China has a 50 to 100 year view on management of a company, whereas we run our companies on a quarterly basis??? Not good!!!’”

Later the same day, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission stated that it is looking into Trump’s plan.
