Thirty minutes before the curfew in Washington, D.C., Donald Trump orders law enforcement agents to tear gas and use force on Black Lives Matter protesters at a park close to the White House… so he can walk across the park to hold a bible upside down for a publicity stunt.

Protesters had gathered in the park to express their outrage at the death of a black Minnesota man, George Floyd, at the hands of a white police officer, with video showing a largely peaceful — if tense — demonstration. Police charged into the protesters about 30 minutes before the city’s 7 p.m. curfew, throwing chemical irritants and hitting protesters and journalists with shields and rubber bullets.

Once the protesters are removed, Trump walks across the area they were gathered in to stage a photo op and media appearance in front of St. John’s Epsicopal Church.

Multiple organizations file a lawsuit against Trump in the days after this attack, for violating the right to free assembly and the right to freedom from unreasonable seizure.
