Amid a flurry of pronouncements from Donald Trump on staffing choices for his forthcoming administration, he made two notable selections for his fledgling-press operation: Steven Cheung, spokesman for the 2024 campaign, will serve as communications director. And Karoline Leavitt will serve as press secretary.
AUTHOR COMMENT
“Press secretary” is essentially an aspirational title since Trump’s last administration held, at best, sporadic pressers and routinely lied to the American people. We should expect similar nuttiness this go-round, with added helpings of much more drama thanks to Cheung—whose past credits include Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
For her part, Leavitt was the spectacular liar that mainstream media never held accountable (shooing her off the platform CNN invited her to doesn’t count). Over the course of the 2024 campaign year, Leavitt absurdly denied that Trump had connections to Project 2025, despite her appearing in training videos and having multiple connections to Heritage Society. Today (as TrumpFile repeatedly warned) all those lies conveniently fell away and Project 2025 is back as the core of their “mission.”
