12pm: Trump & Giuliani tell supporters to go to the Capitol to ‘Save America’

The Trump Timeline:

Sources linked at end of page.

Donald Trump tells thousands of supporters in Washington, D.C. to go to the Capitol during the electoral college certification to change the minds of “weak Republicans.” The result is a domestic terrorist attack on Congress and the United States Capitol.

Beginning around 7 a.m., Trump supporters begin to gather in D.C. to see Trump speak. Before Trump takes the stage at noon, Rudy Giuliani tells the thousands in attendance that they need to “have trial by combat.” Other speakers make similar calls for violence.

Donald Trump begins his “Save America” speech, which is very similar to the speech he gave Georgia audiences just days ago before the runoff election. In it, he attacks Democrats, tech companies, and the media, accusing all three of working together to rig the election. Here are the parts worth reading:

These people are not going to take it any longer… They came from all over our country. I just really want to see what they do… All of us here today do not want to see our election victory stolen by emboldened radical Left Democrats, which is what they’re doing, and stolen by the fake news media, that’s what they’ve done and what they’re doing. We will never give up… Our country has had enough. We will not take it any more. And that’s what this [the Save America March] is all about… And to use a favorite term that all of you really came up with, we will ‘Stop the Steal.’ (His supporters did not come up with that phrase)… We will not let them silence your voices… All Vice president Pence has to do is send it back to the states to re-certify… and we become president, and you are the happiest people… I just spoke to Mike, and I said ‘That doesn’t take courage. What takes courage is to do nothing.’

Donald Trump

We’re gathered… for one very very basic and simple reason: to save our democracy… We have someone in there who should not be in there and our country will be destroyed and we’re not going to stand for that… They’re weak Republicans. They’re pathetic Republicans. If this happened to the Democrats, there’d be hell all over the country going on. There’d be hell. All over the country. But just remember this: you’re stronger, you’re smarter, you’ve got more going…they try to demean everybody having to do with us, and you’re the real people—the people that built this nation. Not the people that tore down our nation… You have to get your people to fight. And if they don’t fight, we have to primary the hell out of the ones that don’t fight… We’re going to have to fight much harder… And after this [speech], we’re going to walk down—and I’ll be there with you—we’re going to walk down, we’re going to walk down, any [street] you want, but I think right here, we’re going to walk down to the Capitol… You’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength, and you have to be strong… History is going to be made. We’re going to see whether or not we have great and courageous leaders or whether or not we have leaders who should be ashamed of themselves.
