Trump critic John Bolton raided by FBI

The Trump Timeline:

On August 22, the house of former Trump national security advisor John Bolton was raided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) at dawn.

Maryland’s Montgomery County police blocked off the road to Bolton’s house “in support of the FBI.” As the raid began, FBI Director Kash Patel announced on social media:

It is reported that the FBI is supposedly seeking documents related to national security. At the end of Trump’s first term, Bolton was investigated for allegedly including classified information in his book, The Room Where It Happened.

However, nothing came out of that investigation. To this date, there is no evidence that Bolton committed a crime. This is not the first time that Trump has used law enforcement against political opponents, with James Comey and John Brennan being investigated by the FBI despite not having committed any known crimes. What the three have in common is that they have criticized Trump. Bolton has repeatedly appeared in interviews to criticize his former boss.

Recently, Bolton criticized Trump’s weak performance when meeting Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Trump responded furiously:

Just over a week ago, Trump lashed out at Bolton and the media, which platforms Bolton, by writing on Truth Social, “Constantly quoting fired losers and really dumb people like John Bolton, who just said that, even though the meeting is on American soil, ‘Putin has already won.’ What’s that all about? We are winning on everything. The fake news is working overtime (no tax on overtime)!”

Raw Story

On Trump’s first day in office for his second term, he revoked Bolton’s security clearance in an unprecedented move.

It is difficult to believe that this has to be written, but criticizing the President is protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution.
