Donald Trump opens Trump’s Castle hotel and casino.. The building was originally constructed by Hilton Hotels as Atlantic City Hilton, but the state rejected the company’s gaming license application because of ties to organized crime.
Trump bought the property, named it Trump’s Castle, and later renamed it Trump Castle.
The casino earns a quiet reputation for providing cocaine to high rollers.
One high roller, referring to the Trump Plaza and Trump Castle, told Spy in 1991, “Sure, I was offered coke gambling down there,” and a Trump Castle employee confirmed that VIPs were supplied with cocaine at parties, “It happened all the time.”
Spooky
Trump Castle goes through a rollercoaster of financial turmoil and changes throughout the years, including a bankruptcy and another name change (Trump Marina) before Trump sells it in 2011.
