During an interview, Donald Trump gave his opinion on Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny being announced as the performer for the next year’s Super Bowl, saying “I don’t know who he is. I don’t know why they’re doing it — it’s, like, crazy. They blame it on some promoter they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous.”
Earlier in the year, Bad Bunny chose to skip the US in his upcoming World Tour, stating that the decision was due to concerns about ICE. Shortly after the Super Bowl announcement, Corey Lewandowski, chief adviser to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, made his own announcement, confirming an ICE presence at the game. “There is nowhere that you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl, and nowhere else. We will find you. We will apprehend you. We will put you in a detention facility, and we will deport you.”
