The Trump administration has ordered for construction of a wind farm being built on Rhode Island to cease immediately to “address concerns related to the protection of national security interests of the United States.” Donald Trump has been a noted critic of wind energy in the past, with new IRS rules making it harder for wind and solar energy companies to claim federal tax breaks being pushed out shortly before construction was halted. Ørsted, one of the companies involved in the project, has said that it is “evaluating all options to resolve the matter expeditiously.”
