Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton files a lawsuit with the Supreme Court alleging that voting measures in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin were unconstitutional. Therefore, Paxton says, ballots in those states should be thrown out.
Within three days, over 100 House Republicans and 17 state attorneys general endorse the lawsuit, but the Supreme Court rejects it.
It’s later revealed that “lawyers close to the White House” helped write the lawsuit, which, if it succeeded, would have disenfranchised over 20 million voters.
The Supreme Court rejected the suit, saying in a brief order that Texas “has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another state conducts its elections.”
