In a 5-4 vote, the Supreme Court has ruled that the Trump administration may proceed with cutting nearly $800 million in health research grants that advance DEI efforts or promote “gender ideology extremism.” A federal judge from Boston had previously blocked these cuts, restoring funding to over 1,700 projects focused around issues such as heart disease, HIV, Alzheimer’s, substance abuse, and mental health.
