Roger Stone tells Joel Greenberg that getting him a presidential pardon depends on “a lot of different players,” including Jared Kushner and Rudy Giuliani.

Your thing is being looked at and I will have an answer by Saturday as to whether you have a viable shot for justice and how to go about it…. This is treacherous territory with a lot of different players such as Jared and Giuliani playing a hand…. Sit tight.

Backstory

In late 2020, Florida official Joel Greenberg found himself and his buddy Rep. Matt Gaetz facing a federal sex trafficking investigation. He turned to his good friend Roger Stone in hopes of securing a pardon from President Donald Trump.

Stone, Gaetz, and Greenberg

In conversations taking place between November and January, Greenberg admitted that he and Gaetz had sex with an underage girl and offered Stone $250,000 in Bitcoin in exchange for a pardon.

On November 20, Stone told Greenberg he would pass along the necessary information to the people that “got me my commutation… I will review it with them and give you a budget. This is very doable and the time is now.”

Just 10 days later, unsealed court documents revealed that someone with connections to Trump’s closest advisers was selling presidential pardons.

It’s worth noting (but not surprising) that Roger Stone wants Matt Gaetz to run for president, even after finding out that he had sex with a minor.
