On September 3, Senator Mark Warner, vice chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, stated that a September 5 meeting between himself and officials at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) was canceled after Laura Loomer criticized him and the NGA online.
Loomer also criticized NGA Director Vice Admiral Trey Whitworth. Loomer did not attempt to obscure her role in getting the meeting canceled.
Loomer took credit for the meeting’s cancellation in several social media posts starting late on Tuesday, saying Warner was “LOOMERED.”
“Following my expose of Biden appointed NGA Director Trey Whitworth, who was Mark Milley’s handpicked Director for NGA @NGA_GEOINT, Whitworth’s scheduled September 5th fireside love fest with anti-Trump Democrat Senator @MarkWarner Mark Warner has been CANCELED!” she wrote.

Loomer’s attacks on Senator Warner and Vice Admiral Whitworth obviously have no basis in national security. They are entirely political. They may also be a mechanism to curry more favor with Trump, who became enemies with General Milley despite the fact that he was chosen by Trump himself to be the Joint Chiefs chairman. Loomer is not a national security professional or expert, and has no credibility to make decisions regarding that field. The consequences of her politicization of national security may be severe.
Over the course of the second Trump administration, Loomer has become a central informal advisor to Trump, often shaping the National Security Agency to her will. She also claimed responsibility for the firing of former National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, who, while involved in the Signalgate scandal, was also one of the most moderate and professional of Trump’s picks.
