Between October 16 and December 12, the Republican National Committee’s finance chairman, Louis DeJoy, donates over $600,000 to Donald Trump’s campaign and the RNC.
The significance? October 16 is when the former U.S. Postmaster General announced her resignation.
DeJoy becomes the new Postmaster General in June 2020 and immediately begins debilitating the USPS ahead of an election that will be heavily decided by mail-in ballots.
Mr. DeJoy and his wife, Aldona Wos, have significant investments in companies that do business with or compete with the Postal Service. According to disclosures filed with the Office of Government Ethics, the couple hold between $30.1 million and $75.3 million in such investments, mostly in XPO Logistics, where Mr. DeJoy was a director until 2018.

Before joining the RNC, DeJoy was the CEO of a company called New Breed Logistics, where he (illegally) pressured employees to donate to Republican campaigns in exchange for a reimbursement from the company.
In the 2019-2020 cycle, DeJoy has given more than $1.5 million to GOP candidates and campaigns, the bulk of which has gone to aid Trump’s 2020 election strategy, Graves said. The sum includes nearly $80,000 to aid GOP Senate races since last December, when the former Postmaster General announced she would resign.
“This level of partisanship,” Graves said in written testimony, “undermines public trust in the Postal Service as an institution.”
Representative Gerry Connolly, a Virginia Democrat who is chairman of the panel, said the hearing would help fill out a portrait of DeJoy. “We have a crony at the helm of our nation’s Postal Service, a man rife with conflicts of interest and potential violations of law,” Connolly said.
New Breed Logistics was acquired by XPO Logistics, which “assists the Postal Service during busy shipping periods, such as around the holidays, moving bulk shipments of packages from fulfillment centers and taking them to local Postal Service centers so mail carriers can deliver them to residences.”
