Germany issued a chilling warning for Americans

Today, as Donald Trump was sworn in for his second term as President of the United States, tech billionaires like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg were given priority seating ahead of incoming cabinet members.

Tech CEOs wanted to buy power to pillage, plunder, and rule. And now they have it.

You couldn’t ask for a better visual representation of our speedrun toward oligarchy, perfectly predicted in a confidential document recently obtained by Reuters.

The document, written by Germany’s ambassador to the U.S. — Ambassador Andreas Michaelis — warns that the Trump administration plans to fundamentally alter our constitutional order.

It outlines a grim future where U.S. law enforcement and media will be stripped of their independence and used as a political arm while big tech companies will be granted “co-governing power.”

The document describes Trump’s agenda as one of “maximum disruption,” aiming to concentrate power in the presidency at the expense of Congress and federal states. It warns, “Basic democratic principles and checks and balances will be largely undermined.”

This shift has real, dangerous implications for every single one of us.

Think about this. A U.S. ALLY is expecting a weakened system of checks and balances, manipulation of law enforcement for political gain, serious threats to press freedom and independent media, and increased corporate, oligarchic influence in our government.

We’re also witnessing the early stages of what the German ambassador called a “redefinition of the First Amendment.”

Trump is already using lawsuits, threatening criminal prosecution and revocation of licenses against journalists and outlets.

Algorithms are being manipulated, and accounts are being blocked.

The Washington Post is compromised. Fact-checking is a thing of the past on Meta and X/Twitter — and we expect more communication platforms and news sources to follow.

This is not normal. We cannot allow it to become our new reality.

Donald Trump is the president. He’s opened the doors wide to corruption on levels this country has never seen before. Corporations and powers-that-be that stayed away from him in his first term for fear of public reprisal are now fully embracing him and showing up in the front rows of his administration.

Now more than ever, we must stand together as we face this unprecedented challenge to our democracy.

We must heed Ambassador Michaelis’ warnings, stay vigilant, and not fall asleep to what’s happening for a single second. It’s going to take all of us.

Thank you for staying informed,
