We already lost cable news to Trump

Folks, there’s a new obstacle ahead of Trump’s second term that the mainstream media isn’t reporting on — and trust us, they WON’T.

That’s because they’re the problem.

Together, these news stories from this week and the last couple months present a frightening future for the fourth estate (and our country).

1. Trump suggested he’ll use military action against Panama Canal, Greenland — and CNN DEFENDED HIM.

During a press conference at Mar-a-Lago yesterday, Trump said he’s open to using military force to seize control of both Greenland and the Panama Canal.

CNN responded to Trump’s comments live on-air, with the host suggesting this could be necessary for national security. When her guest shot that down, she defended Trump again:

“I see your point… [but] he’s willing to throw stuff out there that may be controversial. He portrays himself as a negotiator and a businessman, and a lot of his supporters, frankly, like that.”

2. Last month, ABC News paid off Trump instead of defending their reporting in court

Trump sued ABC News for defamation after a host mentioned that he was “found liable for raping” author E. Jean Carroll.

The company paid to settle the lawsuit in December, despite the judge in the Trump v. Carroll case stating himself that “Mr. Trump ‘raped’ her as many people commonly understand the word… The jury found that Mr. Trump, in fact, did exactly that.”

3. After Trump won the election, MSNBC’s Morning Joe hosts visited Trump at Mar-a-Lago

On November 18, hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski told their audience about the visit and said they were happy to “restart communications” with Trump.

They defended their comments in later episodes, blasting viewers for not understanding how journalism works. (Newsflash: journalists are supposed to report the news, not rub elbows with wannabe dictators.)

The pro-Trump attitude isn’t limited to the incoming president, either. When a recent guest made a joke about Fox News being unserious, the hosts read a formal apology to their competitor!

Just this morning, Mika apologized for another guest after they refered to Trump as a rapist.

4. Facebook & Instagram removing barriers to GOP propaganda, conspiracy theories

Studies show that Americans who get most of their news from social media were more likely to vote for Donald Trump in November, as well as more likely to believe fake news stories like Haitian immigrants “are eating the pets in Springfield.”

That’s why it’s really F—ING concerning that Facebook and Instagram will no longer fact check or throttle political content. Instead, Meta will roll out a feature similar to Twitter’s Community Notes, where users will be able to add context to posts.

On the plus side, we’ll have an easier time pushing REAL news about the Trump Administration to more Americans with social media ads. Click here if you can help with a donation today!

Folks, do you realize how much trouble we’re in?

Until now, we could depend on most cable news outlets to keep the public informed. Not any more.

These corporations heard the same threats we did: sending the DOJ after any network whose coverage Trump doesn’t like, even banning some news outlets altogether.

Apologizing for calling him a rapist? Defending military expansion as a normal idea by a renowned businessman and negotiator?

Rather than fight him later, cable news is surrending before Trump is even in a position to attack them.

Not us. Not now. Not ever.
