Hours after Trump’s inauguration, several officials from the Justice Department’s Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) were fired.
Those fired include Mary Cheng, the acting director of the EOIR since March 2024, and Judge Sheila McNulty, who had ten years of experience in the office and was chief immigration judge.
In addition, the assistant director of EOIR’s office of policy, Lauren Alder Reid, was removed, along with Jill Anderson, the general counsel for EOIR.

The Department of Justice declines to tell CBS News why the personnel were terminated.
