U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested New Hampshire resident and green card holder Fabian Schmidt at Logan Airport in Massachusetts, torturing him at the airport before calling for an ambulance to take him to the hospital.
According to family who spoke to Fabian days after his disappearance, ICE agents tortured him at the airport, including stripping him naked, forcing him into a cold shower, interrogating him while nude, confining him to a mat on the floor and refusing him food, water, sleep, and his medications. It’s unclear if he was subjected to physical assault.
Medical care was not provided until Fabian collapsed. ICE agents demanded that he give up his green card.
At the time of this writing on Saturday, March 15, 2025, Fabian is being held at the Donald W. Wyatt detention facility in Central Falls, Rhode Island.
Fabian Schmidt is an electrical engineer, husband, and father of an 8-year-old girl. He has been a legal resident of the U.S. since 2008 and has no criminal record beyond a DUI from a decade ago.
