In April of 2023, Heritage Foundation and Project 2025 operative Paul Dans appeared on John Fredericks’ Rumble telecast to claim, among other things, that Executive Orders were already written and “teed up” so a presumptive, Republican president could sign them.
Dans’ remarks are notable for a number of reasons, not least of which is many organizations (like ALEC and Center for Renewing America, for example) write radical legislation for Republicans who then turn around and present externally drafted, verbatim “bills” as their own.
Since the clip aired, though, Paul Dans was reportedly fired from Heritage over allegations of abusive behavior toward subordinates. And when Dans’ lawyers demanded $3.1M in severance, Heritage reportedly refused. “I was made a scapegoat by The Heritage Foundation to cover up for their own mishandling of the public relations fiasco over Project 2025,” he told RealClearPolitics.
