Grifter’s Gala: Trump hosts cryptocurrency dinner

The Trump Timeline:

On May 22, Trump hosted a cryptocurrency dinner on his golf course near the White House.

The dinner’s invitees were winners of a “pay-to-play” scheme in which the top 220 holders of Trump’s meme coin, $TRUMP, qualified. According to CNN, “the 25 biggest investors got an even more exclusive privilege — access to a small VIP reception with the president.”

The dinner revealed that Trump accepted gifts from foreigners, which is Constitutionally illegal.

Among these foreigners is suspected Chinese criminal, Justin Sun, who once feared entering the United States due to civil fraud charges, only to find himself praised by Trump allies and awarded with a “Trump Golden Tourbillion” watch. He is apparently the top holder of $TRUMP. (Trump File readers know that Sun isn’t the first Chinese criminal Trump’s benefitted from.)

According to another top holder of the meme coin, Christoph Heuermann, who is German:

“I got to see some very rich crypto billionaires,” Heuermann wrote in one such Instagram post. “But the majority of the crowd were young professionals from the crypto space hailing mostly from Europe. A fair share of Chinese and a few Americans, but a great diversity of most European countries. People working mostly for crypto exchanges, funds, market makers or just trading themselves. Very nice networking.”

Wealthy foreigners featured prominently despite Trump’s pledges to “put America first,” and to be a President for working class Americans.

As cryptocurrency offers anonymity (and therefore a great potential for corruption), CNN asked about the release of a guest list, which the White House refused in the form of a non-sequitur response.

Despite the sheer amount of money involved in the interest, the food “sucked” according to attendee Nicholas Pinto. He also reported that Trump was only there for about 23 minutes as well. Furthermore, the security was reportedly relaxed to an excessive extent.

In more humiliating news for Trump, $TRUMP fell by 16% in value on the morning after the event.

Whether it was shuttering a crypto crime unit in the Justice Department, creating a crypto reserve, having the Securities and Exchange Commission drop lawsuits against crypto firms that broke the law, or hiring crypto-friendly Brian Quintenz to run the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Trump has made it clear that cryptocurrency has become one of his chief means of profiting from the Presidency.
