Sometime in mid-November, date unknown, Rudy Giuliani begins a series of phone calls to Arizona Senate President Karen Fann requesting help with pushing the election fraud narrative in the state. Trump also calls Fann to thank her for her efforts.
On December 2, Fann tells a constituent via email that she’s spoken with Giuliani at least six times in the past two weeks. Another email shows Fann’s involvement in the upcoming Maricopa County audit, as well as Giuliani and Fann’s work with a One America News reporter named Christina Bobb. Bobb and her employer — a Russian disinformation outlet — become one of the main funders, if not the primary funder, of the phony audit in that county.
Following conversations with Giuliani, Fann also works with Jovan Pulitzer, a conspiracy theorist who claims to have invented technology that helps identify “counterfeit” ballots.
“The more we learn, the more it becomes clear that this is not an audit, it’s a sham partisan crusade carried out by some of the most cynical actors our democracy has ever known,” said Austin Evers, executive director of American Oversight. “With each new email, the paper trail confirms that the true goal of this process is to perpetuate Donald Trump’s big lie of a stolen election and to undermine faith in our democracy.”

Fann’s emails are released by American Oversight in June 2021 and expose the above information and more. By then, others in Trump’s circle have come under fire for similar conversations with officials in states like Georgia (twice) and Michigan.
