Robert Foresman emails Trump assistant Rhona Graff, telling her that he set up a secret communications channel between George W. Bush and Vladimir Putin. He can do the same for Donald Trump.
Foresman also says that “senior Kremlin officials” would like a meeting with Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski to discuss topics that shouldn’t be mentioned over email. He later tells the FBI that he contacted the Trump campaign under orders from Anton Kobyakov, an adviser to Putin.
Mark Burnett, the creator and producer of The Apprentice, introduced Foresman to Graff on a phone call earlier in the day. Burnett has been in contact with Putin since around 2001.
Foresman is the head of Russian operations at Barclays, a bank headquartered in London. He spent much of his career living in Russia and Ukraine but moves to New York in October 2016.
In January 2017, Foresman passes a document from his Russian counterparts to Michael Flynn. The document is intended for the Trump transition team.
