Emily Murphy at the General Services Administration approves the Biden transition, allowing government officials to work with Joe Biden’s team ahead of the inauguration in January.

After Murphy’s announcement, Donald Trump (or whoever is using his account) tweets out that he made the decision.

President Trump gave what aides say is the closest he will come to conceding his loss to President-elect Joe Biden on Monday night, tweeting that while he is still fighting in court, “in the best interest of our country, I am recommending that Emily and her team do what needs to be done with regard to initial protocols, and have told my team to do the same.”

Murphy, however, wrote to Biden’s team and to her own staff that she came to the decision on her own.

“I have dedicated much of my adult life to public service, and I have always strived to do what is right,” Murphy wrote. “Please know that I came to my decision independently, based on the law and available facts.”
