In quote-tweeting a self-described “project manager” and “physics engineer” for a Canadian company, Elon Musk replied “True” to Alexandre Tourville’s claim on Twitter/X that “President Trump received a clear mandate” to hasten an “extinction level event (ELE)” in federal government.
Musk has previously asserted that, through his fledgling government body “DOGE” that doesn’t yet exist, he will lead an effort to dramatically reduce government spending. Musk and DOGE co-director, Vivek Ramaswamy, have stated their goal is to eliminate at least “$500 billion” in spending.

First things first: no, Donald Trump did not receive any sort of “mandate”—from Melania, Ivanka or anyone. He will go down in history as an inexplicably to-be-reinstalled “president” with the smallest-victory margin since the 19th Century, according to The New York Times. And since this post is shaping up to be a “mythbusting operation,” let’s keep it going with the fella Elon quoted: Alex Tourville has a huge following on Twitter/X but there’s apparently more to the story than meets the eye.
Tourville claims in his bio that “Elon picked my X logo” even though it looks like my dude found it after fishing around the clip-art bin at Payless rather than designing it himself. Furthermore, as Tesla/Musk critic ZeroSumBond writes on Threads, significant questions exist as to the credentials Tourville claims—on LinkedIn, X or elsewhere. ZeroSum got banned from Twitter/X for factual reporting on Musk, and I’ve reached out to him to provide additional details/research.
