Sometime in May, Donald Trump tells Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to “go after Bitcoin,” according to then-national security adviser John Bolton.

Trump’s order comes during discussions about how to hurt China financially. He’s been led to believe that clamping down on the trading and selling of internet currency might help.
