Russian agent and soon-to-be informal Trump campaign adviser Dimitri Simes arranges meetings between Russian agents Maria Butina and Alexander Torchin to top officials in the U.S. Treasury and Federal Reserve.
Simes, the head of the Center for the National Interest, is one of Butina’s handlers in the United States. Her other U.S. handler is a college professor named Anton Fedyashin. Torchin is the deputy governor of Russia’s Central Bank and Butina’s Russian handler.
With Simes’ help, Butina and Torchin meet with Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Stanley Fischer and Nathan Sheets, Treasury Department Undersecretary for International Affairs.
