Phyllis Fong, the inspector general of the Department of Agriculture who had been investigating Elon Musk‘s brain implant company Neuralink, is fired. Fong’s office was investigating Neuralink for allegations that some of the company’s experiments resulted in the suffering and unnecessary deaths of animals.
This is one of many examples of the Trump administration cracking down on legal actions and investigations that could damage Elon Musk’s finances.

These matters vary, from safety investigations on Tesla’s self-driving technology to alleged workplace safety violations at SpaceX.
