Corporations cut ties with Trump and the GOP after insurrection

The Trump Timeline:

In the days following Trump’s attack on the Capitol, major corporate donors have sworn to cut all donations from Republicans who supported the coup attempt by objecting to the certification of president-elect Joe Biden.

Dow, a massive chemical company and GOP donor, is stopping all donations to the 147 Republicans who objected — unless they are re-elected in the future.

Marriott International, Morgan Stanley, and the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association have also made this promise. Goldman Sachs is expected to join them.

Some other companies withholding political contributions for the time being include Coca-Cola, Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, and Facebook.

If Donald Trump is the nominee, that’s the end of the Republican Party.

Stripe, a payment processing company used by the Trump Campaign, will no longer process payments on the campaign website.

Shopify shut down multiple Trump and MAGA online stores.

Even the dark money loaners at Deutsche Bank are blacklisting the Trump family.

Deutsche Bank, which has been Mr. Trump’s primary lender for two decades, has decided not to do business with Mr. Trump or his company in the future, according to a person familiar with the bank’s thinking. Mr. Trump currently owes Deutsche Bank more than $300 million, which is due in the next few years.

Signature Bank, where Ivanka Trump was once a board member, is also cutting off the family. Two of Donald Trump’s accounts, totaling over $5 million, have been shut down. The bank previously helped financed Trump’s Florida golf course but is now calling for him to resign from office. The bank also vows to never again do business with any of the 147 Republicans “who voted to disregard the Electoral College.”

Possibly the biggest blow to Trump’s ego comes from the Professional Golfers’ Association. The PGA ended its partnership with Trump’s golf clubs and cancelled the 2022 championship that was scheduled at Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey.
