Elon Musk‘s America PAC, mired in many controversies of the billionaire’s own making, received a favorable ruling: after Philadelphia district attorney Larry Krasner sued to block $1 million “sweepstakes” a judge allowed it to proceed.
Common Pleas Court Judge Angelo Foglietta issued his ruling and “did not immediately explain his reasoning,” NPR reported.
Krasner, a Democrat, had called the process a scam ‘designed to actually influence a national election’ and asked that it be shut down.
Despite being mandated by the court to appear for the hearing, Musk did not attend. After the ruling Krasner said he “wasn’t ruling out” criminal charges down the line. The corrupt “sweepstakes” gambit was apparently timed to create maximum exposure for attention-starved Musk prior to the election between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
