According to Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Laurie Garrett, a top Trump adviser says the campaign is working on getting 20 states to select “faithless electors” to elect Donald Trump.

Just a day before, an adviser speaking to The New York Times insisted this wasn’t going to happen despite Trump bringing it up during a meeting at the White House.

“He knows it’s over,” one adviser said. But instead of conceding, they said, he is floating one improbable scenario after another for staying in office while he contemplates his uncertain post-presidency future.
